Association of Health Care Journalists

To improve public understanding of health and health care by: 1) Raising the quality, accuracy and visibility of reporting, writing and editing of news stories about health policy, medical research and practice, consumer health issues, the business of health care, public health, health law and ethics. 2) Supporting the highest standards of reporting, writing, editing and broadcasting. 3) Promoting access and the free flow of information so journalists can do their jobs 4) Promoting the improvement of professional development opportunities.



Training Mission:
To help journalists do a better job covering consumer health, the business of health care, health policy, medical research and clinical practice. We provide training for journalists who cover these areas on a full- or part-time basis, for trade press and general news media. Frequently, we offer fellowships to help journalists defray expenses.
