The Association for Women Journalists, Chicago Chapter, is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization founded in Chicago in 1993. Chicago's chapter was born from the first AWJ chapter in Dallas-Ft. Worth, which was founded in 1988. The group is dedicated to supporting women in print and broadcast journalism and promoting the respectful treatment of women by the news media. There are seven AWJ chapters across the country, and we continue to grow.
