AAJA's mission is to encourage Asian American and Pacific Islanders to enter the ranks of journalism, to work for fair and accurate coverage of Asian Americans and to increase the number of Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists and news managers in the industry.



Training Mission:
AAJA's training programs include Professional Programs like the Executive Leadership Program, partnering fellowships with the Newspaper Association of America and The Poynter Institute, media study tours and Camp AAJA. Our Student Programs include J Camp, a high school journalism training camp, internships with our national convention student projects and scholarships and grants that are awarded to our student members.
