The journalists who created the club almost immediately included other professionals. Lawyers, judges and public relations specialists are among our ranks. Freelancers and student journalists are also members. In fact, anyone who shares an interest in communications, literacy, current affairs or the First Amendment is welcome. The club hosts book signings, newsmaker luncheons and talks by local editors and reporters. We encourage the best of student journalism with an annual scholarship. Members enjoy reciprocal privileges at 22 other press clubs across the nation.
