Association of Young Journalists

The Association of Young Journalists is a nationwide network of persons working in the various mediums of the Press who are younger than age 35. AYJ is committed to: -Formalize and create a community of journalists of all backgrounds; -Promote and facilitate opportunities for the professional development and growth of journalists in their first decade in journalism; -Provide a unified voice for the “young” journalist; -To encourage diversity of age, race, ethnicity, beliefs, gender, sexual orientation and socioeconomic background in newsrooms across the nation and world; -And to uphold the high standards and ethics in the practice of journalism and the free flow of information, which is essential in a free society.
